Try Judy’s Fabulous Garlic Loaf

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • ½ cup butter
  • 6 cloves fresh garlic, crushed
  • 1-1/2 cups sour cream
  • 2 cups cubed Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp. Chopped mushroom pieces
  • 2 tbsp. Sliced black olives
  • 1 (14 oz.) can of artichoke hearts, diced
  • 2 tbsp. Dried parsley flakes (or fresh equivalent)
  • 1 chopped green onion
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Cut French bread in halves, lengthwise. Place halves on aluminum foil covered baking sheet. Tear out soft inner portion of bread in large chunks, leaving crusts intact. Melt butter in a large skillet and stir in garlic. Add bread chunks and fry until bread is golden and butter is absorbed. Remove from heat.

Combine sour cream, Jack cheese, Parmesan cheese, and parsley flakes. Stir in mushroom pieces, olives, green onions, artichoke hearts and toasted bread mixture. Mix well. Spoon into bread crust shells and sprinkle with Cheddar cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve in slices.

Try our Blue Ribbon Barbeque Shrimp!

  • 2 lbs. large uncooked shrimp (can use raw shrimp that are peeled and cleaned, tails on)
  • 1/2 Cup butter
  • 3 T olive oil
  • 2 T chili sauce
  • 1 T Worchestershire sauce
  • 1 T lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 T parsley, finely chopped
  • 3/4 t ground red pepper
  • 3/4 t liquid smoke
  • 1/2 t paprika
  • 1/2 t oregano
  • 1/4 t hot pepper sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
(Adjust seasonings and spice to your taste) Wash and peel shrimp (if needed) spread in ovenproof dish. Combine remaining ingredients in a small pan, heat, and pour over shrimp. Bake in preheated oven at 300 degrees until they are done and turn pink, turning frequently.Serve in soup bowls with chunks of French bread to soak up sauce. Makes 4-6 servings. Enjoy!

The Sister Study

The Sister Study is the only long-term study of women aged 35 to 74 whose sister had breast cancer. It is a national study to learn how environment and genes affect the chances of getting breast cancer. In the next 3 years, 50,000 women whose sister had breast cancer, and who do not have breast cancer themselves will be asked to join the study.
